Sawblade Sign
Problem:
The winter storms of 2014-2015 meant the end of the existing sign, done in by excessive snowfall and a run-in with a front end loader.
Solution:
After taking the 21” saw blade out of the barn, I saw that it had excessive pitting and flaking rust. The blade was wire brushed and then subjected to an electrolysis bath to remove the remaining rust.Next, I set the text on a computer and freehand cut the rest of the stencil. After a ghost spray, the rest was hand lettered. The hanger is a repurposed old draw hitch subjected to the same rust removal process as outlined above.
Timeing:
This was a downtime project and was split up over a week’s time.
