Problem:

Build a full-scale Stanley Cup that looked as if the Bruins mascot had constructed it in a backroom workshop. Part of the cup had to reveal a crudely constructed section yet still be able to withstand repeated retakes.

Soloution:

After finding blueprints for the Stanley Cup, a skeleton of foam core disks were cut out and mounted to a 2-inch compressed cardboard tube. The outer section was sheathed in heavy craft paper with various barcodes and stamps applied to look like cardboard. Finally, the exterior was wrapped in wrinkled aluminum foil, short in one area, which left the heavy craft paper exposed. That section had aluminum foil with light adhesive applied to allow for repeated retakes.

Timing:

The project took 3 days to complete.
